Saturday the 24th
Stories of my social life, meeting my new intern supervisor and walking trough Angoulême.
Today I was invited for tea (and banana bread) by Matt Madden and Jessica Abel. Coincidentally I walked into Matt in the morning (he had e-mailed me to invite me over) but it reminds me of just how small Angoulême really is and yet I still don't always know how to get everywhere.
For example this morning I decided to make my usual I don't have anywhere to go stroll I wanted to go to the Angoulême museum actually not the comic book museum as I had plans to go there tomorrow, but the normal city museum. One of my friends told me a few days before they have an African cultural exposition and I'd love to see that.
But alas I couldn't find the museum. It didn't matter I got to see some more of the city and I do so love the Architecture here.
At noon I came over for tea time and had some delicious banana bread I wish I had taken a picture, but I find it a little rude to do so in someone else's home.
Not only did I get to meet Jessica (and see Matt again), I also had the pleasure to meet their children who are very cute. Jessica and Matt showed me their workplace at La maison des auteurs. It was really cool to see there work and sketches (I always love seeing the working progress of other artist is gives so much of an inside in how they work, develop an idea or what techniques they use).
Jessica also showed me where I'll work when I start my second month and she asked me if I could maybe start working for her one day a week already as she could really use the help.
After La maison they showed me the route to the museum and I could see the exhibition after all.
I'd say this day was a huge success.
